Nate Cason
POA President & Member of Compliance/Maintenance/Water Committee
Nate is a seasoned professional in the construction and real estate development industry, with over 27 years of experience under his belt. His impressive credentials include 15+ years of expertise in land use rezoning and permitting across the United States, as well as 10+ years in the supply and importing industry. His portfolio spans from large-scale projects to smaller, home-based ones. Nate's extensive knowledge makes him an invaluable asset to work with property owners and government entities, especially in resolving land use issues.
Although Nate and his wife, Rebecca, are new homeowners in Bear Lake West as of 2022, they have been enjoying and exploring Bear Lake for over 35 years.
In 2022, he was appointed to fill a vacancy on the POA Board of Directors. He was re-elected in 2024 and his term is set to end in August 2028.

Michael Wade

Michael has been a teacher for 32 years, specializing in high school math and coaching football and other sports. He grew up in Colorado and earned a BA in Education from Western Colorado University. During his college years, he was awarded a football scholarship and played for four years. Michael later received an MA in Education from the University of Colorado.
Although he retired in 2019, Michael moved to Bear Lake in June of 2021 and has been active in the community. Being a lover of the outdoors, he enjoys ranching, skiing, and fishing. While he still considers himself retired, he has taken on a new role teaching 7th grade Social Studies in the Bear Lake County School District.
Michael has been a member of the POA Board of Directors since 2022 and his term is set to end in August 2026.

Amy Karcher
POA Treasurer & Secretary
Amy is a Certified Internal Auditor and ACL Certified Data Analyst, and holds a BBA in Accounting. For over two decades, Amy has worked for prominent corporations in mining, manufacturing, hospitality and financial services industries in a financial risk and controls advisory capacity, where she uses data to identify problems.
Amy and Ross, along with their teenage son, have been part-time residents of the POA since 2010.
From 2012 to 2018, Amy served on the POA Board, holding several positions, including Vice Chair and Amenities President. In 2022, she was re-elected and her term is set to end in August 2026.

Ralph Lewis

Ralph is currently retired, but has had an illustrious career in customer service, starting in retail where he managed several stores for various companies. He later transitioned into the medical field, where he worked as a wound care technician and provided direct care to patients.
Ralph and his wife, Michelle, have three grown sons. They have owned a cabin at Bear Lake (POA) for the past nine years and are currently part-time residents, spending most weekends at their cabin.
Ralph has been an active member of the Amenities Beach Committee since 2022. In 2023, he was appointed to fill a vacancy on the POA Board of Directors. He was re-elected in 2024 and his term is set to end in August 2028.

Marty Phipps
POA Board Member​
Marty has established a strong professional background throughout his years of experience working for Rio Tinto, where he held various roles and positions that required extensive travel. Additionally, he previously owned and operated the Shell/Bears Den gas station and store in Garden City.
Marty is a part-time resident of the POA and is currently constructing a new home in Island Park.
Marty has been serving on the Board of Directors of the POA since 2019. He was re-elected in 2024 and his term is set to end in August 2028.

Bryan Sievers
POA Board Member & Amenities Alternate
Bryan grew up in Orange County, California but moved out to Colorado and eventually Texas. For the majority of his career he worked in the IT field focused on selling services to both commercial clients and government agencies. During his time in Colorado Bryan was a board member of his townhouse association in Colorado Springs. Over the last decade Bryan has been a licensed real estate agent in the state of Texas focused on investing in and selling home sites and acreage.
Although Bryan’s primary residence is currently in McKinney, Texas he is anxiously waiting for his son to finish his senior year of high school in May of 2025 when he will move up to Idaho to live full time.
Bryan loves the mountains and enjoys camping, fishing, riding his off road vehicles and just sitting on his deck taking in the views of beautiful Bear Lake.
Bryan has been a member of the POA since purchasing his home site in July of 2021. Construction started the following summer and his home was finished in the summer of 2023. Bryan was elected in 2024 and his term is set to end in August 2028.

Ross Karcher

Ross has worked in various roles focused in IT over the years, including software developer, business analyst, client services management, and risk management. He has worked across various industries including Financial-Banking, Public Sector (Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS Systems), and Resort/Hospitality (Ski Industry). Ross enjoys cooking, skiing, off-road recreation, and boating on Bear Lake.
Ross and Amy, along with their teenage son, have been part-time residents of the POA since 2010.
Ross's appointment to the Amenities Board is “at large,” meaning that he is not a POA Board member.

Dan Fillion
Water System Operator, Maintenance & Plowing
Water System Operator, Maintenance & Plowing
Dan was born in Chicago during the mid-1960s but was raised in Wyoming throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s. He later moved to Bear Lake in 2005. With a diverse background in auto repair, parts sales, heavy truck towing and maintenance, salvage yard operations, fleet maintenance, sawmill operations, heavy equipment operation, construction, welding, and public water system operation, Dan has amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience.
In addition to his professional experience, Dan has also contributed to various boards such as the BLW/POA board, BLW amenities board, and Swan canal company board. Since 2008, he has served as a public water system operator, providing top-notch service to BLW/POA, BLW/HOA, and Bear Lake Hot Springs.

Tiffany Wahlberg, CPA

Tiffany is a Certified Public Accountant with a Masters in Accounting. Tiffany has provided bookkeeping and tax services to the residents and businesses of the Bear Lake Valley since 2005. She works with many of the homeowners associations in the valley, providing dues invoicing and payments services, as well as bookkeeping and financial statement preparation services. Please contact Tiffany for any address changes, questions about your account, or for help setting up payments.
Tiffany, her husband, Tom, and their 4 children have been full-time residents of the Bear Lake Valley since 2002.
